Detectives from the Moreton District Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit are intensifying their investigation into a fatal incident that occurred last week on the Bruce Highway, Burpengary. The case escalated when police executed a search warrant at a Redcliffe address, resulting in significant findings. During the operation on February 20, authorities discovered stolen property and a firearm in the home. These items were allegedly linked to a white flat-bed Hino truck involved in the fatal traffic incident. Two Redcliffe men, aged 49 and 36, were arrested and have been charged with entering premises, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and weapons offenses. They are currently aiding police with ongoing inquiries and are scheduled to appear in Redcliffe Magistrates Court on March 16, 2026. The investigation has successfully identified all vehicles involved in the crash, and several individuals are cooperating with law enforcement.
