A tragic road incident in Torquay claimed the life of a 40-year-old man on February 21, authorities reported. The collision, involving a black BMW motorcycle and a grey Isuzu D-Max, occurred at the intersection of Bideford Road and Exeter Street around 12:50 pm.

Police and emergency services rushed to the scene following the accident. The motorcycle rider, identified as a Torquay resident, was pronounced dead at the location. The driver of the Isuzu, a 58-year-old woman from Point Vernon, did not sustain any physical injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is currently investigating the circumstances of the crash. As part of the ongoing inquiry, police are requesting witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage, especially those who might have captured the motorcycle before the incident, to come forward.
