A late-night altercation in Yeppoon has led to severe injuries and subsequent charges, Queensland Police reported. The incident occurred on the night of February 19, escalating from a verbal disagreement to physical violence. At approximately 11:55 PM, two men were involved in a verbal dispute at the intersection of Anzac Parade and Normanby Street, which quickly turned into a physical confrontation. A 47-year-old man suffered significant facial injuries during the altercation and was rushed to Rockhampton Base Hospital for immediate medical treatment. Authorities were quick to respond, declaring the area a crime scene. A 30-year-old man from Kawana was arrested at the location. He has been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and was scheduled for a court appearance at the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on February 20.
