A man reported missing near Julia Creek, Queensland, has been found safe and sound, according to the Queensland Police Service. The individual was located around 1:30 PM on February 18 at Julia Creek, concluding an urgent search and rescue operation that began on February 16.

The search was initiated after the man, last seen on February 13 leaving Cloncurry, was reported missing three days later. He was believed to be traveling towards Cairns. Police, along with aerial assets, conducted an extensive search across the Julia Creek and Richmond areas, resuming operations early on February 17.

Following his discovery, the man is currently being transported to Mount Isa Hospital for medical assessment. The Queensland Police have officially stood down the search and have expressed their gratitude towards the media and public for their assistance during the operation. In respect to privacy, all identifying information and images have been withheld from further releases.
