A 30-year-old man from Mount Louisa has been charged after a stolen vehicle was recovered by the Townsville police. The grey Toyota Landcruiser, reported missing from Aitkenvale on February 1st, was located on Charles Street, Heatley on February 15th, leading to the man’s arrest. According to the Queensland Police Service, the suspect allegedly visited an address on Ross River Road in Aitkenvale between the night of February 1st and the early morning of February 2nd, and subsequently fled in the stolen vehicle. The vehicle was spotted several times on February 13th around Mundingburra before evading police on February 14th in Mount Low. The man now faces charges including unlawful possession of a motor vehicle with intent to deprive and operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license. He is set to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today, February 16th.
