Police in Calliope, Queensland, have arrested a 37-year-old man following the discovery of an alarming cache of weapons, explosives, and drugs at a local property. The operation, conducted on February 4, led to charges including possession of dangerous drugs and unlawful possession of weapons. During the search, authorities reportedly found explosive materials alongside an assortment of weapons and suspicious devices. To ensure public safety, the Queensland Police Service’s Explosive Ordinance Response Team (EORT) was promptly deployed to the scene on Herbertson Road, establishing an exclusion zone. The potentially hazardous materials were safely neutralized through a controlled detonation. Following the operation, the scene was declared secure, and the substances were sent for further scientific analysis. The charges against the individual include possession of cocaine, testosterone, and MDMA, various unauthorized firearms, assault, and handling explosive substances without proper authorization. The accused appeared before the Gladstone Magistrates Court on February 5.
