A fatal traffic collision occurred yesterday afternoon at Banksia Beach, resulting in the death of a 79-year-old local woman. The incident, involving a blue Nissan Navara and a white MG hatchback, took place around 12:30 PM at the intersection of Reef Street and Sunderland Drive.

According to Queensland Police Service (QPS), the deceased was the driver of the MG hatchback. The other driver, a 41-year-old man from Ningi, sustained injuries and was transported to Caboolture Hospital in stable condition. The QPS is currently investigating the crash and has called for witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
