Queensland police have charged a 50-year-old man following an alleged wounding incident at a business in Zillmere on January 6.

Police were called to a business on Zillmere Road about 3:30 p.m. after reports of an altercation between two men. Detectives allege the man struck a 35-year-old Bracken Ridge man in the neck with a weapon, causing an injury.

The injured man was taken to hospital in a non-life-threatening condition. The alleged offender left the scene before police arrived but was arrested a short time later on Newman Road in Geebung.

He has been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of utensils allegedly used in connection with a drug. He is scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 7.
