Zelenskyy’s Strategic Security Summit

In a significant gathering on January 3, 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy convened a meeting with national security advisors from the Coalition of the Willing member states in Kyiv. The session aimed to bolster international support and strategize on the ongoing conflict with Russia.

President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude towards the supporting nations for their unwavering assistance amidst Russia’s aggressive actions. He highlighted the emergence of new opportunities to end the conflict and appreciated the diplomatic solidarity from the partner countries. “Now we have a new wave, a new chance to finish this war. And we are thankful that on the diplomatic path, we are also not alone,” Zelenskyy remarked during the meeting.

The discussions were centered around drafting specific documents crucial for the peace process and determining the security guarantees the allied nations could offer. Zelenskyy underscored the importance of a coordinated approach against Russia, criticizing its lack of genuine peace efforts and continued reliance on provocative tactics. He stressed that only through strong, united pressure could there be a shift in Russia’s stance.

The meeting also reviewed outcomes from discussions across three panels involving Ukraine’s negotiating team and representatives from various countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, and more. These panels focused on a framework peace plan, security assurances, and economic recovery strategies for Ukraine. Looking ahead, a chiefs of general staff meeting is scheduled for January 5, followed by a high-level meeting in Paris on January 6. This sequence of diplomatic engagements is set to pave the way for further discussions with the United States.

Today’s assembly not only reinforced international support for Ukraine but also set the stage for upcoming strategic interactions aimed at resolving the prolonged conflict and ensuring regional stability.
