Flood Tragedy Strikes Normanton

A man in his 70s tragically lost his life in Normanton after his vehicle was found submerged in floodwaters. The incident occurred on Gulf Development Road around 3:00 PM on December 30, as confirmed by the Queensland Police Service (QPS).

Authorities responded to the scene after receiving a distress call about the submerged vehicle. Despite rapid response efforts, the elderly man was discovered deceased within the vehicle. The police have stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a coroner’s report is pending.
