Police in South Brisbane are currently investigating a series of serious property offences, including multiple vehicle thefts, which have occurred over the past nine days. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has issued an appeal for public assistance to gather information that could lead to resolving these crimes. According to the QPS, a group of individuals is suspected of stealing up to eight vehicles from residential areas between December 16 and December 24. The thefts began with the stealing of a black Skoda Kodiaq from Apex Street, Balmoral, shortly after midnight on December 16. The same night, further incidents were reported in Seven Hills and Hawthorne, including a failed vehicle theft and a fuel drive-off in Darra. The spree continued with the theft of a blue Porsche Macan and a grey Audi E-Tron from Sherwood, and a blue Volkswagen Polo from Murarrie. The thefts seemed to climax on December 20 with a grey Hyundai i30 being stolen from Camp Hill. Most recently, on the early morning of December 24, a black Mercedes-Benz C300T was stolen from Katoomba Avenue amid break-ins at four homes in Murarrie, Cannon Hill, and Hawthorne. Police are urging anyone with information related to these incidents or the whereabouts of the stolen vehicles to come forward.
