President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine recently honored the valor and tireless efforts of rescuers addressing the aftermath of Russian military strikes in southern Ukraine. The commendation occurred during his evening address, highlighting the ongoing restoration work spearheaded by various emergency teams.

The President expressed his gratitude towards the personnel from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, particularly noting the contributions of several units in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. These areas experienced significant damage due to the recent drone and missile strikes targeting energy infrastructure, residential buildings, and other critical facilities.

In Odesa, the rescue teams successfully extinguished fires at multiple sites, including a significant blaze at the Chornomorsk Fish Port triggered by a missile strike and subsequent drone attacks. Meanwhile, in Mykolaiv, similar challenges were met with prompt and effective responses, safeguarding civilian lives and property.

Zelenskyy emphasized the crucial role of emergency services, energy companies, and governmental institutions in ensuring the safety and recovery of the affected regions. He assured that the Ukrainian government is committed to supporting these efforts through national resources and international cooperation. The President’s address not only served as a formal acknowledgment but also as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by Ukraine amidst conflict.
