As part of a concerted effort to curb property crime in Queensland’s Capricornia District, the State Flying Squad (SFS) completed a significant week-long operation in Rockhampton. The initiative, dubbed Operation Xray Crosscut, led to the arrest of 80 individuals on a combined 413 charges, signaling a robust response to local criminal activity. The operation, which began on October 27 and concluded on December 15, was aimed at bolstering the local law enforcement capabilities by providing additional investigative resources. Throughout the deployment, the SFS, alongside Capricornia’s local officers, managed to charge 42 people with 147 offenses, significantly disrupting criminal operations in the area. In addition to the arrests, law enforcement executed a key search warrant in Frenchville, resulting in the seizure of various drugs and related paraphernalia. A 45-year-old local man faces multiple charges, including possession of dangerous drugs and other related offenses, and is scheduled to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on December 19. Capricornia District Superintendent Mark Burgess expressed satisfaction with the operation’s impact, emphasizing continued efforts to target and deter criminal activities. SFS Detective Inspector Joe Nixon highlighted the squad’s adaptability and commitment to supporting crime hotspots across Queensland, ensuring community safety and bolstering local police efforts.
