Light of Peace in Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine recently received the Peace Light of Bethlehem, a symbolic gesture presented by the country’s scout organizations on December 11, 2025. This event underscores a message of hope and unity amid ongoing national challenges.

During a heartfelt meeting, representatives from Ukraine’s largest scout organizations, including the National Organization of the Scouts of Ukraine, Plast – National Scout Organization of Ukraine, and the Association of Ukrainian Guides, handed the Peace Light to President Zelenskyy. Expressing his gratitude, the President remarked on the significance of the light and warmth provided by the scouts, emphasizing its importance to both military personnel and civilians across Ukraine. “Thank you for this warmth. The warmth and the light that our people need so much,” said Zelenskyy.

The scouts also discussed their active roles in humanitarian efforts, such as aiding displaced families, supporting Ukrainian soldiers, and promoting Ukrainian culture globally. They plan to distribute the Peace Light further to various institutions including the National Specialized Children’s Hospital Okhmatdyt, schools, churches, and to first responders, spreading a symbol of peace and resilience throughout the nation.

This ceremony not only highlights the solidarity among Ukrainians but also the younger generation’s commitment to contributing positively to their country’s welfare during turbulent times.
