Police in Dalby, Queensland, have charged a 46-year-old man with multiple drug-related offences after a comprehensive seven-month investigation aimed at curtailing the local drug trade. The operation, led by the Dalby Criminal Investigation Branch, resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of drugs and illegal weapons.

The arrest occurred following several search warrants executed at a residence in Dalby. Law enforcement officials confiscated four firearms, a replica handgun, 314 grams of methylamphetamine, 139 grams of GHB, cannabis, prescription medications, $12,050 in cash, and seven mobile phones. The accused faces 28 charges, including trafficking and supplying dangerous drugs, unlawful possession of weapons, and possessing proceeds obtained from drug supplying.

Detective Inspector Andrew Trenerry highlighted the operation’s success, stating that it had disrupted a major drug distribution network and removed a substantial amount of narcotics from the streets. “This operation utilized various investigative strategies, significantly impacting the local drug scene and community safety,” said Trenerry. He also praised the community for their role in reporting crime and continued support in aiding police efforts.

The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on February 10. Meanwhile, the Queensland Police continues to encourage the public to report any suspicious activities and reminds them that they can anonymously provide information through Crime Stoppers.
