Queensland police have apprehended a 15-year-old boy following his alleged involvement in multiple vehicle thefts and armed robberies in Paradise Point and Underwood. The incidents, which occurred in the early hours of December 9, have prompted a wider investigation with police urging the community to report suspicious activities.

The series of events began just before 2 a.m. at O’Grady Drive, Paradise Point, where assailants reportedly broke into a residence and forcibly took a 2023 grey Mercedes Benz GLE53. A 41-year-old resident sustained minor injuries during the incident and received medical attention at Gold Coast University Hospital. The stolen Mercedes was later found abandoned at Shailer Park.

Approximately 40 minutes later, a similar incident unfolded at The Crescent in Underwood. Intruders forcibly entered another property and stole a 2017 white BMW X5 and a 2016 white Mercedes Benz E350 at knifepoint. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported from this encounter.

Authorities spotted the stolen vehicles along with a blue Ford Falcon, previously stolen from Upper Coomera, driving dangerously in convoy on Reserve Road. The situation escalated when two suspects transferred from the stolen Mercedes to the Ford, abandoning the Mercedes with a replica firearm and knife inside. The Ford was later found abandoned.

Subsequent police operations led to the arrest of the teenage suspect from Labrador at a Helensvale address. He faces multiple charges including armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He is due to appear at the Southport Children’s Court. Meanwhile, police continue their investigations and encourage the public to assist by reporting any suspicious activities through Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
