Earlville Tragedy: Man Charged

In a shocking incident from Earlville, Queensland, a 47-year-old man from Woree has been charged with aiding the suicide of a 76-year-old man. Queensland Police Service reported that they received a call about the sudden death on Mulgrave Road around 8am, December 6.

Upon arrival, emergency services discovered the elderly man deceased, prompting an immediate investigation. Authorities soon declared a crime scene and by 11:45 am, had taken the 47-year-old into custody. The arrested individual, reportedly known to the deceased, is accused of assisting in the suicide.

The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Cairns Magistrates Court on January 9, 2026. Queensland Police encourage anyone with further information to come forward and help with the ongoing investigation by contacting Policelink or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
