Police on the Sunshine Coast are calling for public assistance to catch the perpetrators behind a series of burglaries that occurred on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. The incidents, which took place between 10:30 am and 1:00 pm, affected multiple homes in the areas of Beerwah, Landsborough, and Booroobin. Initial reports suggest that the burglaries are connected, involving a black Volkswagen Polo seen in conjunction with a red Toyota Corolla, which was reported stolen from Maleny the same morning. Authorities believe that capturing footage or sightings of these vehicles could be crucial in solving the case. Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Lowry of the Sunshine Coast District Criminal Investigation Branch emphasized the importance of community vigilance, especially with the approaching holiday season. He urged residents to keep an eye out and report any suspicious activities or vehicles. “We’re asking for anyone who may have seen these two vehicles around the Sunshine Coast hinterland on Tuesday to come forward,” Lowry stated. He also recommended that residents store essential contact numbers, such as Policelink and Crime Stoppers, in their phones for quick access in emergencies. The police have provided several avenues for the public to submit information, hoping that tips will lead to a swift resolution. The community is encouraged to report any relevant information anonymously via Crime Stoppers or through the Policelink suspicious activity online form. As the investigation continues, the authorities remain hopeful that public cooperation will aid in apprehending the offenders.
