In a somber development from Bayview Heights, a 63-year-old local man has been charged with a domestic violence murder offense after the death of a 69-year-old man from Cairns North early this morning. The incident occurred on December 2, according to the Queensland Police Service (QPS).

At around 3 AM, emergency responders were dispatched to a residence on Yara Street after receiving reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, the 69-year-old victim was found deceased. A crime scene was subsequently established, and the 63-year-old suspect was apprehended at the location.

Authorities have disclosed that the individuals involved were known to each other. The suspect has now been charged with one count of murder related to domestic violence and is held in custody, awaiting a court appearance at the Cairns Magistrates Court scheduled for December 3.
