Coach Charged in Child Abuse Case

In a recent development in north Brisbane, a 73-year-old hockey coach from Arana Hills has been arrested and charged with multiple sexual offences against children. The Queensland Police have called for public assistance to gather more information regarding the case.

The arrest took place on November 23, 2025, following an investigation by the Inner West Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU). The suspect, whose identity has not been disclosed, faces allegations of using his coaching position to commit sexual offences against two teenage girls, aged 14 and 15. He has been charged with two counts of grooming and three counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 years.

The Queensland Police have expressed concerns that there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with further information or similar experiences to come forward. Detective Senior Sergeant Christopher Jordan emphasized the importance of community assistance in such cases, stating, “There may be someone out there with more information that could assist this investigation, and we encourage you to come forward.”
