Summit Focuses on Crimea’s Future

In a significant address delivered at the Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform on November 24, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the continued importance of the Crimea Platform and its role in upholding fundamental principles of international law and order. The summit, attended by nearly 70 parliamentary delegations, served as a platform to reaffirm the illegality of the annexation of Crimea and discuss the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

President Zelenskyy outlined the core values the Crimea Platform stands for, which include the respect for human life, the rejection of altering borders by force, and the denial of “spheres of influence” which he criticized as justifications for aggressive wars. He commended the summit participants for maintaining a principled stance against these violations and underscored the global implications of failing to adhere to these principles.

The address also highlighted the critical situation in Europe and the broader international community’s role in supporting Ukraine. Zelenskyy pointed out the dangers posed by Russian policies under President Vladimir Putin, including efforts to gain legal recognition for territories seized by force. He stressed the importance of not only supporting Ukraine but also actively participating in the diplomatic processes aimed at resolving the conflict.

As the summit concluded, Zelenskyy called for continued international pressure on Russia and support for Ukraine in enforcing the principles that prevent the change of borders by force and ensure that war criminals are brought to justice. He urged the international community to remain engaged and proactive in supporting Ukraine during these challenging times.
