Police are currently investigating a fatal traffic incident that occurred early this morning in Noosa Heads, Queensland. The accident, involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy from Cooroy.

According to initial reports from the Queensland Police Service (QPS), the incident took place at around 1:54 AM on Claude Batten Drive. A Ford Ranger Ute, driven by a 19-year-old man from Tewantin, struck the young pedestrian. Despite immediate medical treatment at the scene, the teenager was pronounced dead shortly after the accident.

The driver of the Ford did not suffer any physical injuries and is currently cooperating with the police investigation. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has relevant footage to come forward and assist with the ongoing inquiries.
