Tragic Night on Bruce Highway

A devastating traffic collision on the Bruce Highway near Canoona has claimed the lives of two individuals and left another seriously injured. The incident occurred late on the night of November 19, prompting an extensive emergency response.

Queensland Police reported that the collision involved a Mercedes-Benz truck and a Freightliner truck. The driver of the Freightliner sustained severe injuries and was urgently airlifted to a hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, two passengers in the same truck were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, who was the sole occupant, suffered minor injuries and was also transported to a hospital.

Authorities have closed a segment of the Bruce Highway to facilitate an on-site investigation by the Forensic Crash Unit. Motorists have been advised to seek alternative routes as the road is expected to remain closed for an extended period.
