In a recent address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the need for utmost integrity in the nation’s energy sector and announced significant administrative changes. The address, delivered on November 12, 2025, outlined a series of measures aimed at combating corruption and ensuring transparency amid the ongoing challenges faced by Ukraine, including power outages and external military pressures.

President Zelenskyy revealed that conversations with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko led to decisive actions concerning the energy sector’s administration. He expressed unwavering support for ongoing investigations by law enforcement and anti-corruption bodies, asserting a zero-tolerance policy towards any corrupt activities within the sector. This includes a strategic overhaul and ‘reset’ of the management at Energoatom, Ukraine’s leading nuclear power provider.

Further intensifying his stance on governmental integrity, Zelenskyy announced that both the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Energy are expected to resign, citing a breach of trust and the necessity to address accusations swiftly. He also mentioned that the National Security and Defense Council would soon impose sanctions on individuals implicated in corruption cases linked to Energoatom, based on recommendations from the Cabinet of Ministers.

Concluding his address, President Zelenskyy called on all members of parliament to support the proposed resignations and emphasized the importance of adhering to legal processes moving forward. He thanked those standing with Ukraine during these tumultuous times and reiterated the nation’s commitment to lawful governance and the protection of its sovereignty.
