In a significant operation early this month, Queensland Police apprehended a 40-year-old man from Rockhampton City on multiple drug-related charges. The arrest followed a raid at a property in Glendale, where officers seized a substantial amount of dangerous drugs and cash. On October 13, at approximately 7:40 a.m., law enforcement executed a search warrant at a residence on Glendale Road. The raid resulted in the confiscation of large quantities of methamphetamine, buprenorphine, and cannabis, along with a significant sum of cash. Detective Acting Inspector Brett Richard emphasized the department’s unwavering zero-tolerance policy towards the possession and distribution of illegal substances. “There is no place in our community for these harmful substances. Our officers are dedicated to eradicating these drugs from our streets and ensuring that offenders are prosecuted and face justice,” he stated. The accused faces three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and additional charges including possession of items related to the commission of a crime and possession of ammunition without proper authorization. He is currently held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on December 10. Queensland Police urge the public to report any suspicious activities by contacting Policelink or anonymously through Crime Stoppers. This ongoing commitment to public safety reflects the department’s proactive stance in combating drug-related crimes within the community.
