The Olena Zelenska Foundation, in partnership with the UAE Aid Agency, has announced a new agreement to funnel $5 million into social and humanitarian projects across Ukraine. This deal marks a significant expansion of the cooperative efforts between Ukraine and the United Arab Emirates, aiming to provide substantial support in areas heavily impacted by ongoing conflicts.

During a recent visit to Ukraine by Reem Al Hashimy, the UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation, a signing event was held to formalize this new chapter of support. The ceremony was a part of a broader engagement which included a visit to a foster family in the Kyiv region, who benefitted from the UAE-supported Room for Childhood project. The family, caring for ten children, shared their experiences and the positive impact of the initiatives on their lives.

The agreement not only renews but broadens the scope of the partnership to cover key areas such as family-based care, psychosocial support for youth, and the creation of safer learning environments. According to Nina Horbachova, the director of the Olena Zelenska Foundation, this funding will significantly enhance their capacity to support and launch new projects aimed at the welfare and empowerment of children and families affected by the crisis. The ongoing collaboration has already seen substantial achievements, including the construction of homes for foster families, distribution of educational supplies, and enhancements in healthcare infrastructure.
