Queensland Police have successfully charged two individuals connected to the theft of two vehicles, including a high-end Mercedes-Benz and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, in Gold Coast. The arrests occurred after a coordinated operation in Nerang on October 8.

The sequence of events began when officers were notified about a stolen grey Mercedes-Benz C300 seen on Frank Street, Labrador. The vehicle was reported stolen from Main Beach the previous night. Following the Mercedes-Benz led authorities to Biggera Waters, where a female accomplice collected the Harley-Davidson, which had also been reported stolen and was in for tyre repairs.

The chase continued south along the M1, culminating in the deployment of a tyre deflation device on Nerang–Broadbeach Road. The Mercedes-Benz was halted on Paradise Street in Nerang, where a 19-year-old female driver was apprehended. Simultaneously, the rider of the Harley-Davidson, a 40-year-old female, was detained. The motorcycle had been altered in appearance with a silver respray to mask its original identity.

The younger woman faces multiple charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of dangerous drugs, and other related offenses. Her accomplice is charged with similar offenses concerning the unlawful use of the motorcycle and additional counts related to property damage. Both were scheduled to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on October 9.

Police continue their investigation into these incidents and encourage anyone with information to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers. The case underscores ongoing efforts by local police to tackle vehicle theft and related crimes in the region.
