In a significant development from Brussels, the European Parliament’s Transport and Tourism Committee is poised to finalize its stance on the updated EU air passengers’ rights regulations. This move comes ahead of a crucial press briefing set for Monday, October 13, 2025, at 17:45 CEST, where key parliamentary figures will discuss the outcomes of recent committee votes and the path forward.

The briefing, to be held in the Anna Politkovskaya press conference room of the European Parliament, will feature Parliament’s rapporteur Andrey Novakov (EPP, BG) along with several shadow rapporteurs from various EU member states. This assembly of policymakers will address the media on enhancements aimed at safeguarding passengers when faced with boarding denials, flight cancellations, or delays.

These proposed legislative adjustments are designed to uphold existing traveler rights while introducing new measures that aid stranded passengers, regulate cabin baggage, and streamline access to compensation.
