Police in Ipswich have successfully apprehended a man and a woman accused of multiple thefts, including a motor vehicle and various personal items. The arrests followed extensive investigations by the Queensland Police Service (QPS), which culminated in charges for both suspects. On the evening of October 5, the accused allegedly executed a theft at an Eastern Heights residence, stealing a 2018 XV Subaru after unlawfully entering the property and taking the car keys. The crime spree extended over several days, from October 5 to 7, during which the pair is also accused of stealing number plates from vehicles in Gailes and breaking into cars in Ripley, from which they took wallets and cash. The stolen Subaru, now equipped with the stolen number plates, was located by police on Hillier Street in Goodna around 2:30 PM on October 7. As officers attempted to intercept, the female driver tried to flee by starting the vehicle, leading to her immediate arrest. The male passenger attempted to escape on foot but was apprehended shortly after. The 18-year-old woman from Leichhardt faces multiple charges, including burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She is currently held in custody, awaiting a court appearance scheduled for October 9 at the Ipswich Magistrates Court. Similarly, the 19-year-old man from Rochedale South faces related charges and will also appear in court on the same day. Queensland Police urge the public to report any suspicious activities directly via their online platforms or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
