In Copenhagen, during the European Political Community Summit, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Moldovan President Maia Sandu convened to discuss their countries’ shared journey towards European Union membership and the enhancement of trade and economic relations.

President Zelenskyy extended his personal congratulations to President Sandu for the triumph of pro-European forces in Moldova’s recent parliamentary elections. He highlighted the significance of this victory against Russian efforts to destabilize the region, emphasizing that Moldova and Europe emerged victorious.

The meeting focused on the strategic alignment of Ukraine and Moldova in their EU aspirations. Zelenskyy applauded Moldova’s successful completion of the bilateral screening process and expressed gratitude for Moldova’s support of Ukraine’s EU endeavors. Both leaders underscored the importance of synchronizing the opening of the first cluster for EU accession for both countries.

Beyond the EU agenda, the Presidents deliberated on expanding trade and economic ties, signaling a collaborative effort to bolster economic stability and growth in the region.
