President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen convened in Copenhagen to address escalating threats from Russia. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the European Political Community Summit, focusing on recent airspace incursions affecting Denmark, Poland, Romania, Norway, and Estonia.

Key discussions revolved around enhancing collective security measures, with Ukraine advocating for a joint integrated air defense system. Zelenskyy emphasized the potential of Ukrainian expertise and technology as a crucial element of the European Union’s Drone Wall initiative. Ukrainian servicemembers are currently assisting their Danish counterparts in these efforts.

Additionally, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Denmark’s commitment to a military aid package exceeding EUR 360 million, aimed at boosting Ukrainian defense production. The meeting also highlighted the PURL initiative, with Denmark contributing EUR 90 million and discussing future involvement.
