Knife Threats Lead to Arrest

In a swift police operation, a 22-year-old man was apprehended after allegedly threatening shoppers with a knife at a Logan Central shopping centre in Queensland. The incident took place on the morning of September 21, 2025, prompting an immediate response from police and local security.

According to Queensland Police, the man entered the shopping complex on Wembley Road at approximately 10:40 a.m., where he reportedly brandished a knife and made threats to multiple individuals. The confrontation caused alarm among shoppers and staff, leading to the involvement of security personnel and concerned bystanders who pursued the suspect as he fled the scene.

The police quickly responded and tracked down the suspect near the intersection of Ellen Street and Kingston Road, detaining him by 10:54 a.m. The Redbank Plains resident faces a total of 12 charges, including four counts of common assault under the influence of an intoxicating substance, two counts of making threats, and one count of going armed to cause fear.

Authorities confirmed that the accused is scheduled to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on September 22. Queensland Police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward, maintaining the importance of community assistance in solving and preventing crimes.
