Two men have been charged following a serious assault incident in Victoria Point, Queensland, as per the Queensland Police Service. The attack, which occurred on the evening of September 8, left a 27-year-old Victoria Point man with life-threatening injuries.

According to police reports, the victim was assaulted outside a gym on Bunker Road by a 22-year-old man from Victoria Point. The assault, described as targeted and unprovoked, resulted in the victim sustaining critical head injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Investigations led Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch detectives to execute a search warrant on September 10 at a Redland Bay residence, resulting in the arrest of a 22-year-old Redland Bay man. Police allege that this individual orchestrated the assault. He has been charged with multiple counts, including grievous bodily harm and common assault, and will remain in custody until his next court appearance on September 18.

On September 12, the 22-year-old Victoria Point man involved in the physical assault turned himself in to authorities. He faces charges of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and is slated to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Detective Inspector Wayne Francis emphasized the police’s zero-tolerance policy for violent crimes, highlighting the lasting impact such incidents have on victims and their families. Authorities continue to encourage anyone with information related to the case to come forward.
