Townsville police are appealing to the public for information following an attempted armed robbery in Gulliver on August 15. Authorities have released surveillance footage in hopes of identifying the suspect involved.

The incident occurred around 7:55 p.m. when a man entered a takeaway shop on Mooney Street, demanding money from the attendant. When the attendant refused, the suspect fled the scene. Fortunately, no one was physically harmed during the event.

The suspect is described as wearing a black bicycle helmet, a navy or black long-sleeve shirt, black trousers, white shoes, and an orange jumper wrapped around his neck and face. Investigators are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who was in the area between Palmerston Street and McDonald Street from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on the day of the incident, especially if they have dashcam or CCTV footage.
