Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives from Flextronics, an American enterprise, following a devastating missile strike that hit their Mukachevo facility on August 21. The attack, attributed to Russian forces, injured 17 individuals and halted operations. During the meeting, Anna Dragun, General Director of Flextronics Ukraine, emphasized the non-military nature of their production, which focuses on civilian consumer goods like coffee machines. Despite the destruction, Dragun highlighted the successful evacuation of all 600 employees due to timely air-raid alerts. President Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for the resilience of the American business presence in Ukraine, pledging full support for the company’s recovery efforts. “We will do everything to help you recover as quickly as possible,” he assured. U.S. Chargé d’Affaires ad interim to Ukraine, Julie Davis, was also present, acknowledging Zelenskyy’s unwavering support. The factory, known for producing household appliances and consumer electronics, stands as a symbol of American investment in Ukraine. The priority now, according to Dragun, is to support the injured employees and restore the plant’s production capabilities.
