Queensland police have arrested a 27-year-old man from Greenmount following a series of armed robberies in Mackay on September 3. The suspect allegedly targeted three businesses, threatening employees with a hammer and escaping with cash and a phone charger. The first incident occurred at 10:30 AM when the man reportedly entered a business on Celeber Drive, demanding money before fleeing. Later, at 7 PM, a similar robbery took place at a Finch Street convenience store. The suspect allegedly used the same method and drove away in a white sedan. The final robbery of the day happened at 10 PM at an Empire Street service station, where the man again demanded cash and left with stolen items. Fortunately, no employees were injured during these encounters. Police intercepted the suspect’s vehicle around 4 AM on September 4, leading to his arrest. The man now faces three counts of armed robbery and is set to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court on September 5.
