Global Leaders Unite for Ukraine’s Security

In a significant meeting held in Paris on September 4, 2025, the Coalition of the Willing convened to discuss security measures for Ukraine amidst ongoing tensions with Russia. Organized by French President Emmanuel Macron, the meeting brought together key global leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The assembly aimed to coordinate international efforts to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities across various domains, including land, sea, air, and cyberspace. Notable attendees included leaders from Finland, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, and high-ranking officials from the European Union and the United States. The discussions emphasized transitioning from a military to a political framework for security guarantees.

A shared concern among the leaders was Russia’s attempts to extend the conflict and hinder peace negotiations. To counter this, there was a consensus on amplifying support for Ukraine and intensifying diplomatic pressure on Russia. The European Union is preparing its 19th sanction package, while Japan is developing additional sanctions.

The meeting also extended virtually to leaders from over 20 other nations, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and Japan, further underscoring the global commitment to Ukraine’s security. U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff reiterated America’s support, aligning with the coalition’s collective stance to fortify Ukraine against external threats.
