Police in Ipswich have charged a 17-year-old boy following a series of alleged dangerous driving incidents in the city’s central business district. The teenager is accused of performing skids on Brisbane Road and running a red light on the evening of August 2, 2025. Authorities report that the young driver engaged in a verbal altercation with an unidentified man before being located by police at a residence in Woodend. A blood alcohol test allegedly showed the teenager had a concentration of 0.134%, significantly over the legal limit. The suspect was initially issued a notice to appear in court and instructed to surrender his Ford Ranger for impoundment, but police allege the vehicle was hidden at a business in Bundamba. It was eventually located by investigators on September 1. The boy from Woodend faces multiple charges, including three counts of wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke, and one count each of the dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving without due care and attention, and middle-range drink driving. He has been released on bail and is scheduled to reappear in the Ipswich Childrens Court on September 29. Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the events or has dashcam footage to come forward. The investigation remains ongoing, and the public can contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers with any information. Post navigation Police Probe Deepens in Kelvin Grove
