Zelenskyy Awards Homes to Ukrainian Heroes

In a poignant ceremony held on August 29, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded 20 apartment certificates to the nation’s esteemed Heroes of Ukraine and the families of those who have fallen in the line of duty. This gesture was made on a day marked by remembrance and pride, as the country honored its defenders who sacrificed their lives for Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence.

The ceremony took place against the backdrop of a national day of observance, during which a moment of silence was held to commemorate the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers. President Zelenskyy expressed his profound gratitude to the warriors who continue to defend Ukraine and to the families who nurtured such heroes. He emphasized Ukraine’s resilience and its ability to withstand external pressures, stating, “Ukraine has already achieved far more than anyone in the world could have expected.”

The 20 certificates were distributed among the families and servicemembers from various branches of the Ukrainian military, including the Medical Forces, Land Forces, Territorial Defense Forces, and others. Thirteen certificates were presented to the families of fallen defenders, while seven were given directly to the living Heroes of Ukraine. These servicemembers have distinguished themselves in battles across several regions, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and more.

President Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine’s commitment to securing a prosperous future, underscoring the nation’s unity and determination in the face of adversity.
