President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine visited the site of a deadly missile strike in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district, where he paid tribute to the victims of a Russian attack. The strike, which occurred on the night of August 28, claimed the lives of 22 residents, including four children. During his visit, Zelenskyy laid flowers at the destroyed five-story building and expressed condolences to the affected families. The President engaged with residents to assess their needs related to housing, document recovery, and compensation. Zelenskyy assured them of swift action, stating that temporary housing is available and compensation programs are in place to support those affected. He emphasized the state’s commitment to resolving these issues promptly. The attack was part of a larger offensive involving nearly 600 drones and 31 missiles, which resulted in significant damage across Kyiv. In total, 25 people were killed, over 50 were wounded, and numerous buildings and diplomatic facilities were affected. Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko reported that more than 300 individuals sought psychological support following the attack. Search and rescue operations were concluded after a day and a half, with President Zelenskyy extending his gratitude to the rescuers, police officers, and all who contributed to the relief efforts.
