Gold Coast Water Police have taken action following a marine incident at Broadbeach Waters, resulting in the issuance of infringement notices. The incident involved a jet ski displaying reckless behavior, prompting an investigation by the authorities. On August 21, police executed a search warrant at a Mermaid Waters residence, identifying the vessel and its owner. The alleged offender, a 16-year-old boy from Reedy Creek, later admitted to the offenses at the Gold Coast Water Police office. He was subsequently issued infringement notices for exceeding the speed limit and conducting unauthorized freestyle maneuvers and wave jumping within 30 meters of another vessel. The Gold Coast Water Police emphasized their ongoing commitment to marine safety, working in collaboration with Maritime Safety Queensland. They assured the public of continued enforcement actions against any detected offenses to ensure the safety of all waterway users. The police encourage the public to report any suspicious activities.
