Two men have been charged following a daring armed robbery at a produce store in Murgon, Queensland, on August 13. The incident, which took place just after 11 a.m., involved the suspects wielding a knife and a metal tool to threaten a store employee before making off with a cash register and charity donation box in a stolen vehicle.

The getaway vehicle, a 2022 Mazda CX5, was reportedly stolen from Perkins Street earlier that morning. It was later found at a Collins Road address in Cherbourg. Police apprehended both suspects at a Bell Street location around 6:15 p.m., where an officer was injured during the arrest.

An 18-year-old man from Cherbourg faces charges including robbery and unlawful vehicle use, and is scheduled to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on October 7. A 19-year-old also faces multiple charges, including assault, and will appear in court on August 15.

Additionally, a 23-year-old man from Cherbourg has been charged with vehicle theft and is due in Murgon Magistrates Court on September 16. Police are urging anyone with information to contact them or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
