Queensland Police have charged three individuals with a total of 33 offences following a significant raid in Burpengary on July 30. The operation, carried out by the Moreton Tactical Crime Squad (TCS), uncovered a cache of weapons and drugs, marking a significant stride in local law enforcement efforts.

During the search of the Burpengary residence, officers allegedly seized various weapons, including a homemade firearm, nunchucks, and a crossbow. Additionally, police discovered over two liters of GHB, alongside small quantities of methamphetamine and cannabis. The raid also led to the recovery of stolen property, including car keys and registration plates.

Three residents, aged 21 and 31, face multiple charges ranging from unlawful possession of weapons to possessing dangerous drugs. They are scheduled to appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court in the coming months. Moreton TCS Officer in Charge, Senior Sergeant Tom Jakes, emphasized the importance of such operations in maintaining community safety.

“This operation reflects our ongoing commitment to removing harmful weapons and drugs from our streets,” stated Senior Sergeant Jakes. “The seized firearm marks the 26th confiscated by the Moreton TCS this year. We urge anyone with information on illegal weapons to report it to the police.”

Investigations are still underway, and authorities encourage the public to provide any relevant information through official police channels or anonymously via Crime Stoppers.
