Two teenagers have been charged following a late-night break-in at a caravan in Winston, Mount Isa. The incident occurred at approximately 2.20 am on August 4, when the boys allegedly entered the caravan on Little West Street, disturbing the occupants before fleeing the scene. A police dog squad, including PD Disco, was deployed and successfully tracked the teenagers over two kilometers, apprehending them in a yard on Simpson Street around 2.45 am. It is further alleged that the boys had entered a house on Simpson Street prior to being located by law enforcement. A 13-year-old boy from Pioneer faces multiple charges, including three counts of entering a dwelling in company and three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in the Mount Isa Children’s Court on August 12. Meanwhile, a 13-year-old from Townview was dealt with under the Youth Justice Act for two offenses related to entering a dwelling and premises.
