Samsung Electronics has unveiled a significant update to its AI-powered Bixby voice assistant, enhancing functionality on its 2025 TV lineup. The revamped Bixby aims to transform how users interact with their televisions, offering a more natural and intuitive experience. The updated Bixby, powered by Generative AI, enables users to engage in fluid, conversational interactions. By understanding context and follow-up questions, Bixby can provide quick answers to a wide range of inquiries, from general information to entertainment recommendations. This enhancement allows for seamless information retrieval without disrupting the viewing experience. Additionally, Samsung’s Bixby is now integrated with the Click to Search feature, streamlining the discovery of entertainment and other content across various platforms. Users can inquire about actors, shows, or general topics and receive immediate responses on their screen. The integration extends beyond on-screen content, offering answers to everyday questions by leveraging external data. The smarter Bixby also enhances home automation through Samsung’s SmartThings, enabling users to manage appliances with voice commands directly from their TV. Security remains a priority, with Samsung Knox ensuring user data protection. The update is set to roll out in phases, starting in South Korea and expanding globally, further supported by Samsung’s Tizen OS Upgrade program.
