Detectives from Queensland’s Major and Organised Crime Squad have arrested a 30-year-old woman in connection with a traffic incident in Aitkenvale, leading to significant drug and firearm charges. The arrest follows a single-vehicle crash on Nathan Street on July 2, where the suspect reportedly fled the scene.

Upon investigation, police discovered four firearms and a substantial amount of methamphetamine in the Toyota Hilux involved in the crash. The suspect was located on July 30 at a residence on Duke Street, Duchess, following public assistance and police inquiries.

The Townsville woman faces numerous charges, including drug trafficking, possession of dangerous drugs, and multiple firearm offenses. She appeared in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on July 31 and has been remanded in custody, with a subsequent court appearance scheduled for September 15.
