Hyundai Motor Group is taking a significant step towards sustainable transportation by pioneering hydrogen mobility in NEOM, a smart city under development in northwest Saudi Arabia. This initiative aligns with the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030 agenda, emphasizing sustainable and innovative solutions. The automotive giant initiated a trial in NEOM, testing its UNIVERSE Fuel Cell bus in the challenging high-altitude and complex terrains of the region. This successful operation demonstrates the practical potential of hydrogen-powered vehicles in demanding environments and highlights Hyundai’s commitment to clean energy solutions. Further solidifying its role in the future of mobility, Hyundai signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NEOM in September 2024. The agreement focuses on advancing hydrogen infrastructure, in collaboration with Enowa, NEOM’s energy and water subsidiary, to support decarbonized mobility. This initiative not only strengthens Hyundai’s partnership with NEOM but also marks a significant milestone in the deployment of hydrogen technology, promising a cleaner, more sustainable future for transportation.
