Detectives from Queensland Police have charged a 32-year-old man from Fortitude Valley with murder following the death of a 50-year-old man in West End. The incident occurred on Saturday, August 2, when emergency services were summoned to a unit complex on Ryan Street around 4:30 am, responding to reports of an unconscious individual. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim unresponsive with severe injuries and subsequently declared him deceased. The suspect, who was reportedly known to occupants at the scene, was apprehended on Sunday night and is scheduled to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday. Detective Inspector Wayne Francis highlighted the pivotal role of community-provided information in the swift arrest. “The information led to the arrest after an intensive investigation by detectives, intelligence officers, forensic police, and first responders,” he stated.
