In a resolute address, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukrainian forces are successfully holding their positions against Russian advances in the Donetsk, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. Despite the intense fighting, particularly in Pokrovsk and Dobropillia, Ukrainian units have repelled multiple Russian attempts to gain a foothold, thwarting sabotage and reconnaissance efforts by Russian troops.

The President expressed gratitude to the emergency services and military personnel who have been tirelessly working to rescue and assist those affected by recent Russian strikes. Over a hundred individuals have received aid, with dozens hospitalized, including 14 children. Tragically, 14 fatalities have been confirmed in Kyiv, including a six-year-old child, as President Zelenskyy extended his condolences to the bereaved families.

Highlighting international support, President Zelenskyy noted Ukraine’s participation in a significant meeting of European foreign ministers in Finland, marking the 50th anniversary of the OSCE. He emphasized the need for new sanctions against Russia and praised European leaders for their commitment to supporting Ukraine’s anti-corruption efforts and law enforcement independence. Additionally, he underscored the importance of blocking supply chains that enable Russian missile and drone strikes.

The address concluded with an update on legislative progress, including the forthcoming establishment of a Military Ombudsman, as Ukraine continues its efforts to fortify its defense and governance structures amid ongoing hostilities.
