Ukraine’s Bold Defense Strategy

In a decisive move to bolster national defense, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the nation detailing significant advancements in the country’s military and strategic operations. Speaking on July 30, 2025, President Zelenskyy highlighted the nation’s efforts to repurpose confiscated assets for defense purposes and expand recruitment for technological warfare.

The Ukrainian government has initiated a reboot of ARMA, an institution managing assets worth tens of billions, primarily Russian property and assets from sanctioned entities. These resources are being redirected to enhance Ukraine’s defense capabilities. The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts to fortify the country’s resilience against external aggression.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yuliia Svyrydenko, and Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal have successfully expanded the recruitment program for the Defense Forces. The 18–24 program targets motivated young individuals for drone operations, offering competitive pay and comprehensive training over a two-year contract.

In collaboration with international partners, Ukraine continues to strengthen its military supply chain. President Zelenskyy affirmed the preservation of the Ramstein format for military communications and expressed gratitude for the United States’ commitment to large-scale weapon agreements. The ongoing pressure on Russia through sanctions, he noted, is crucial in the quest for peace.

President Zelenskyy also acknowledged the efforts of Ukrainian security forces in countering Russian agents and saboteurs, emphasizing the importance of law and order against those siding with the occupier. He praised the valor of Ukrainian brigades in the Sumy and Donetsk regions, recognizing their pivotal role in safeguarding Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence. Glory to Ukraine!
